Munchie Turns Eight

A sleepover was in order for Munchie's big 8th birthday party.  She had friends and cousins spend the night- they had a great time!

Gigi Turns 5

Gigi had a little "garden party" with a few of her little friends.  She chose the theme so there were lots of "garden" related games, flower pot painting, flower and butterfly decor and dirt cups instead of birthday cake.  This was seriously the best kid birthday that I have ever been to and I consider myself an expert at this point in my life thanks to 6 nieces and nephews!  These children were so well behaved- there wasn't ever a disagreement and no adult ever had to raise their voice.  That's a birthday miracle!
Baby made some adorable snacks that had crackers and grapes but looked like butterflies, there were veggie cups with ranch for dipping, popsicles and "dirt cups" that each child got to customize to his/her liking.
The kids all seemed to enjoy painting little flower pots.  Incidentally this is the only picture that I seem to have with the birthday girl in it and it's of her backside!  Oh well, she had on a really adorable outfit!
Munchie came up with an inventive way to paint the bottom of her pot.

Little bit enjoyed all of the attention that she received.  She stayed up for the entire party and loved getting passed from person to person.
Bab made this spider web game out in the driveway and the kids all wanted to do it over and over again. There was also a treasure hunt, the kids dug for buried treasures in the sandbox and then a game of freeze tag where E and J Man acted like bees.  If you got "stung" then you were frozen.

Easter 2012

We had a really good Easter weekend. First, we celebrated Hubby's birthday on Saturday by having a barbecue with the fam. We had BBQ, collards, sweet potato soufflé, mac and cheese and chocolate ganache cake for dessert...all of Hubby's favorites! He, my Dad and the nieces and nephews had a nice day outdoors fishing and boating in the lake behind my parents house. I kept Babs company indoors while she cooked up the birthday feast. Later that day we went gun shopping and then to dinner at our favorite Greek place with some friends.

On Sunday we woke up to a home cooked breakfast by my Dad (we stayed at their place Saturday night). Then we all got on our Sunday best and headed out to church. This was Lo's first time at church so we only stayed for the first hour. It was a beautiful service, one of our dear friends (Kelc) gave a powerful talk about the Saviour and we were so glad that we went. We visited with friends after the service for awhile and then went back to my parents for lunch. Later that evening we went to Jas and Nell's for Easter dinner. We had a feast! Nell worked so hard at making everything perfect from the food to the decor. We had a wonderful time!

I should also mention that Miss Lo has so many dresses that I brought 3 outfit changes for Sunday...I ended up only doing 2 because one dress was still a little too big.

My birthday celebration with the sibs.  I think we ate on this piece of cake for days after!
I had a great birthday this year- dinner with the sibs and spouses, breakfast date with the parentals, a photo shoot that I'll treasure, lunch with my BFF is ya know what I mean, dinner with our fabulous friends that made steaks and mini cookie cakes for the occasion.  I am one loved lady!

Kiki Turns 9

Last week we celebrated our Kiki's 9th birthday.  It's crazy how fast she is growing up, she looks like a young lady these days and not a little girl.  We celebrated with family over dinner and then had a sweet ending with delicious cupcakes with fluffy pink frosting.  She has been wanting an American Girl Doll and has been saving money.  She sent the family an e-mail asking for money to go towards her doll in lieu of gifts and we were happy to oblige.  Luckily, she got enough money and was able to order the doll of her choice.

Happy Birthday Dear Kiki!  We are so glad that you are part of our family.  You are a beautiful little lady!

Gigi Turns 4

The Birthday Girl in her hand decorated tiara
Once upon a time...there lived a princess named Gigi.  Gigi was turning four years old and decided to have a princess themed party for all of her fellow princesses.  She invited each of them to a party at her castle this past weekend with only two requests: 1. Wear your princess gear and 2. No boys allowed!
The highlight of the party...the milk bar!
The princesses were treated to many fine delicacies courtesy of Babs, all of Princess Gigi's favorites which included: a milk bar with choice of mix in, cheese, fruit, chips and dip and cake.
A few of the girlies, including three of my nieces on the left.  I think there were 12 girls that came.
Her Aunt (a.k.a. the fairest of them all) was the bartender...
carefully personalizing each tiny goblet with each princesses name and customizing each little ladies flavor request.
Cute decorations made by yours truly and her wonderful Hubby.
Fresh paper flowers were made just before the party was to take place.  Her Aunt and mostly Uncle Hubby did a fabulous job on those and they aren't biased at all.  ;)
Happy Birthday dear Gigi!
And lastly, there was a fantastical cake that was made by her fairy godmother that was a thing to behold.  The Babs duo truly out did themselves with that wonderful treat.

The princess entertained her guests with a butterfly pinata, princess puzzle, scavenger hunt, tiaras that each princess got to decorate and a small breakdown complete with real tears because it was her party and she'll cry if she wants to!  The lovely Gigi was gifted with many cute things including her very own tervis tumbler, purses, Hello Kitty stuff and a new laptop.

And they all lived happily every after...The End!
