10 Years
The Hubs and I have been married for a decade! With an unexpected move, our plans for a big anniversary trip went out the window. However, the night before our anniversary we both decided that we needed a night away...nothing lavish, just a quick overnight with just us. We left Lo in good hands with my parents and whisked ourselves away to Savannah, Georgia. I think the last time we were there was probably 5 years ago when we went for the 4th of July and it was hot and crazy. It was nice to go when the weather was nice and there weren't tons of tourists hanging around. The first day we walked around the city market area, which is an artsy district. We had dinner at a local tapas joint and it was one of the best meals of my entire life. Then we found our hotel and turned in for the night. The following day we went down to River Street for breakfast at my favorite, Huey's and for some shopping. We always have to stop in at River Street Sweets...this time it was to get the sitters some goodies. Later that afternoon we headed to Tybee Island to look around and do the whole lighthouse thing. We rounded out he trip with a late lunch at the Crab Shack and headed back home. It was really nice to spend some quality time with my man to honor the day that we got married, 10 years ago. It really is so crazy how quickly time passes by. Considering we dated for 4 years prior to marriage that's a lot of time together.I'm proud of what we have created. It hasn't been an easy road (no relationship is) but there have been more highs than lows and I am so grateful to share a life with my honey. Happy Anniversary Baby!

Mother's Day 2013
Mother's Day was great! I got to spend it with my sweet girl that made me a Mama and the Hubs. We went to church and got a carnation that Lo promptly snapped the flower off of, we played in the foyer and hallways of the church. Lo decided she wanted a car nap so her Daddy obliged while I enjoyed an uplifting Relief Society lesson.
From church we went to visit with Hubby's mom for a bit. Lo enjoyed being outside and her house and digging around in the garden and fountain.
Then we ended the day at my parent's house for a family dinner. The men grilled chicken and steaks, made an awesome Cobb salad and roasted potatoes and the rounded it out with strawberry shortcakes.
My honey got me more workout gear (per my request) and a kindle fire HD. I am one spoiled lady!
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there- those with children, those with fur babies, those who are mother's in their hearts, those who mother all of the littles around them...let's celebrate us!

David and Shellie Get Hitched
Our awesome friends, David and Shellie, got married at the beach. This was also the first time that we left our baby overnight! Mimi and Pappy babysat while we took a quick overnight to celebrate the union of an amazing couple. These 2 people are some of the kindest, most genuine people I know. And now they're officially married! They were married at a beautiful white chapel on the beach, the weather was absolutely perfect for such an occasion. Then we partied all afternoon/night around the pool while catching up with some of our Horse Country people.
Long story, but had to be documented!
The cute couple.
The view from the church.
Me and my hot date!

So typical! They had a legit food fight following this.

New Years Eve 2012
We spent our NYE at Bab and Roc's annual New Years Eve bash. There was good food, good company, lots of dancing and some football watching by lots of men! There was also a fireworks show, minute to win it games, a money piƱata and a small fire! Oh, and the baby slept through the entire thing upstairs in Bab and Roc's overly large walk-in closet. So there you have it, how about some pictures?

Christmas Day 2012
After a late night with the family, we didn't take very many pictures on Christmas Day. We opened presents that morning and then we hosted a Christmas Day brunch for the family. I think that we may have gone a tad overboard on our brunch spread. After a huge dinner at Jas and Nell's the night before we just weren't that hungry. We had a good time hearing about what everyone got from Santa, played outside, watched the Christmas parade and relaxed.

Munchie Turns Eight
A sleepover was in order for Munchie's big 8th birthday party. She had friends and cousins spend the night- they had a great time!

Pioneer Day 2012
The Hubs and I were asked to be on the planning committee for the Pioneer Day activity at church. It was one of the first that we have ever attended and I would say we did a pretty bang up job of celebrating...pioneer style!
We had a delicious breakfast, tons of games, crafts, a couple of demonstrations, a seminar about some local pioneers and a movie. I was able to attend part of the seminar which was being done by my Dad and it was really good. I was so sad that I didn't get to see any of the demonstrations, I heard that they were cool.

Independence Day 2012
We had a fabulous 4th of July celebration at our home. This year we decided that we were taking over the 4th as our holiday. All of my siblings have "their" holidays so we chose our first one. We had a delicious spread- we went with BBQ as the main event. We also had some wonderfully patriotic food too including salad with blueberries and strawberries, red white and blue dipped strawberries, truffles and pretzel rods, red and white pina coladas (a.k.a. Hawaiian lava flow) and blue corn chips with queso and salsa. We also enjoyed red white and blue cake with homemade strawberry ice cream and s'mores.
Everyone enjoyed the outdoor games- golf toss and corn hole.
A kid and adult favorite-the slip and slide. Pappy even took a couple joy rides down the thing.
Red, white and blue eats.
Roc making the ice cream
Nell tasting the Hawaiian lava flow drinks
The slip-n-slide champ J-Man
Gigi, E and Pappy enjoying the swing
Some of my crafty decor.
Our little family.
We bought a plethora of outdoor games that everyone enjoyed. We also tried to do water balloons but that was an epic fail! Apparently we bought the worst water balloons ever made. The slip-n-slide will definitely be making an appearance next year. The kids made everyone s'mores over the grill and the day ended with a pretty sweet fireworks display put on by the Hubs and Roc. There was only one grouping that went astray and sent the entire family running for their lives. It was also the first fireworks set off so that Lo could experience some. She was unfazed by the fiasco but her Mama wasn't so calm as she bobbed and weaved around the yard like she was in a war zone. Good times!

Gigi Turns 5
Gigi had a little "garden party" with a few of her little friends. She chose the theme so there were lots of "garden" related games, flower pot painting, flower and butterfly decor and dirt cups instead of birthday cake. This was seriously the best kid birthday that I have ever been to and I consider myself an expert at this point in my life thanks to 6 nieces and nephews! These children were so well behaved- there wasn't ever a disagreement and no adult ever had to raise their voice. That's a birthday miracle!
Baby made some adorable snacks that had crackers and grapes but looked like butterflies, there were veggie cups with ranch for dipping, popsicles and "dirt cups" that each child got to customize to his/her liking.
The kids all seemed to enjoy painting little flower pots. Incidentally this is the only picture that I seem to have with the birthday girl in it and it's of her backside! Oh well, she had on a really adorable outfit!
Munchie came up with an inventive way to paint the bottom of her pot.
Little bit enjoyed all of the attention that she received. She stayed up for the entire party and loved getting passed from person to person.
Bab made this spider web game out in the driveway and the kids all wanted to do it over and over again. There was also a treasure hunt, the kids dug for buried treasures in the sandbox and then a game of freeze tag where E and J Man acted like bees. If you got "stung" then you were frozen.

Fathers Day 2012
This was a very special Fathers Day indeed. It was Robert's first official time celebrating and we tried to do it right! He got miscellaneous fun paraphernalia, some clothes, the Sleep Book by Dr. Seuss (it's sentimental) and I took pics of our little Lo with her holding the letters D-A-D and had it framed.
We stayed at my parents the night before to go to church with them because my Dad was speaking to the congregation. I made everyone stuffed French toast and even brought it to the Hubs in bed. Little Miss slept for 12 hours straight...talk about a good present! Then I was taking a bath with Lo before church and when Hubby came in to get her out she gave him her first ever giggle. The girl definitely knows how to make a guy feel special!
We had a good service at church and the Hubs was treated to "Doughnuts for Dads" afterwards.
Later we ate dinner with the fam at my parents. We had steak, Mac and cheese, salad, grilled squash and zucchini, corn in the cob and homemade yeast rolls with homemade jam. I made a diabetic coma style peanut butter chocolate pie. It was divine, but made the soda that we washed it down with seen like water...it was rich!
I am so blessed to have such a wonderful Dad, I truly couldn't ask for better. He's funny, loyal, sensitive and every other fine characteristic you would want in a man.
It goes without saying how great the Hubs is with his daughter, she absolutely adores him. She lights up when she sees or hears him and she looks exactly like him. We are very lucky girls!
